The Interdisciplinary Program Global Education Cooperation (GEC) aims to equip aspiring researchers in education and development studies with opportunities to learn and conduct research in educational development cooperation.
Our research findings will serve as valuable resources for practical application.
History
- The Interdisciplinary Program Global Education Cooperation (GEC) was established in 2010 with the aim of conducting research and education in the field of ODA for education. In August 2013, Professor Jin Dongsup (Department of Education, College of Education) was appointed as the program chair. In November 2014, Professor Yoo Seong-sang (Department of Education, College of Education) took over the position and solidified the program’s identity. Professor Kang Dae-jung (Department of Education, College of Education) served as program chair during 2020. Since March 2020, with the appointment of Professor Kevin Kester from the Comparative and International Education major as a joint faculty member, the program has continued to grow academically.
Research
- Through interdisciplinary and specialized research on the relationship between education and development, GEC aims to establish educational development research as an academic discipline.
- GEC endeavors to gather and share knowledge and information on educational development to advance Korean education official development assistance (ODA) and other educational development initiatives.
Education
- GEC aims to equip students with expertise and research capabilities in both education and development.
- GEC strives to cultivate field experts and researchers who can make significant contributions to educational development studies.
